CASA PBO

Renovation and extension project for a semi-detached single-family dwelling. The existing building has two floors — ground floor and first floor — with a footprint of 65 m², totalling 130 m² of floor space, and a tiled roof.

The building has the original features of the 20th century, namely exterior walls in stone masonry and a wooden floor and roof structure. The general state of conservation is poor and does not meet current comfort and performance requirements.

The intervention involves the construction of a three-storey building (basement, ground floor and first floor), whose layout adapts to the volume and limits of the existing building, maintaining the main façade and extending the built area at the rear. The new volume has a flat roof and maintains the same height as the original building.

The functional layout is as follows:

  • Basement: multipurpose room, laundry room, storage room and toilet; includes a patio for natural ventilation and lighting;

  • Ground floor: entrance hall, living room, kitchen, one bedroom and toilet;

  • First floor: three bedrooms and toilets.

The project combines the partial preservation of the existing building with the introduction of a new structure, ensuring compatibility between the original construction characteristics and current functional needs.
