PORTUGAL MEETING POINT – CONCRETA 2013
Simultaneously with Concreta – International Construction Fair for Sustainable Urban Regeneration, Portugal Meeting Point took place at Exponor in October 2013. This initiative was supported by a large group of Portuguese companies that joined this project and served as a platform for the internationalization of the construction sector.
This initiative had a 5,000m2 space designed by the Impare Arquitectura studio and included a series of facilities that facilitated meetings between the companies present at Concreta and the international visitors invited to the fair.
Portugal Meeting Point provided a large lounge for meetings and gatherings, an auditorium where several conferences promoted by participating companies were held and a space for the dissemination of publications in the areas of architecture, design and construction.
There were also three exhibitions of great interest to the sector:
– the exhibition of the National Wooden Architecture Award – 2013 edition, organised by AIMMP-Association of the Wood and Furniture Industries of Portugal, AO-Ordem dos Arquitetos and CPCI-Confederação Portuguesa da Construção e Imobiliário (Portuguese Construction and Real Estate Confederation).
– an exhibition of works by final year students of the Masters in Interior Design at ESAD – Escola Superior de Artes e Design de Matosinhos
– and the exhibition of the SECIL-20 Years Award, a retrospective of the Architecture and Engineering projects that won this important national award.
A social support initiative was also promoted, aimed at the “Sorriso da Rita” Association, an institution that aims to fill the gaps in essential technical aids for the rehabilitation of children with cerebral palsy; The initiative took the form of an installation with around 2000 bricks that were symbolically purchased by visitors and whose contribution went to the aforementioned association.
